Whether it’s providing the support network a student needs to stay enrolled, the facilities to pioneer world-class research, or the regional accommodation that allows students to complete placements and then return to build our local workforce - we ensure geography is no barrier to their individual aspirations.
UNE has always been the unconventional university. Our history is built on a commitment to do what metropolitan institutions cannot, or will not, do. Today, that mission is more vital than ever. The University if very aware of the the way every individual supports UNE through the hard work and dedication that is demonstrated day in and day out.
The Staff Giving Program enables staff to give to the University through pre-tax salary sacrifice, supporting either our students directly or helping to build a fund for special projects and priority programs at UNE.
- Special Projects and Priority Fund: With your support, we have identified urgent areas of need. Your gift can power our Special Projects and Priorities Fund, providing the essential seed funding for innovative ideas that sit outside a standard budget. This is the "future fund" for UNE, allowing us to pivot quickly to support strategic projects or revitalise our campus where it’s needed most.
- Student Scholarships and Support Fund. This is our most direct tool for equity, allowing us to respond to critical needs through scholarships such as the Sole Parent and Carer Scholarship, or Technology Bursaries, providing the essential stability students need to focus on their studies. These aren't just financial transactions; they are lifelines for students during their most challenging moments.
For several years, we haven't offered a meaningful way for you to support UNE's future. This program changes that. It creates a pathway for you to donate direct financial support towards our students, our staff, and the institution itself, ensuring your generosity makes a real difference in the areas that matter most to you.
By giving the equivalent of just one coffee a week, you can make a meaningful difference. The more you give, the more your support can impact our community, both our staff and our students. Your donation is effectively a tax-deductible gift, because by choosing to give through the staff giving program, it comes from pre-tax income.
Participating in the UNE Staff Giving Program is straightforward, impactful, and allows you to support those in our community who need it most. As a token of appreciation, every staff member who commits to significant regular giving will receive a limited-edition gold lanyard, recognising your contribution and your role in helping UNE, Australia's oldest regional university, build a strong culture of philanthropy that connects and supports our community.
