After running the UNE Law School social media pages since 2014, Julia Day is passing the baton to the UNE social media team. Here, she shares her reflections:
"Back in 2014, Meg Vine and I started a very humble Facebook page on behalf of UNE Law. Meg and I were so excited every time we received a new ‘like.’ It quickly became clear to us what a wonderful story #UNELaw had to tell. We have always had a lot to celebrate! The academic and professional staff at UNE Law are committed to their careers, students and research endeavours. Our UNE Law students come from a wide variety of circumstances and backgrounds. This tapestry of diversity creates vibrant teaching environments, that are rich with meaning and emotion. As I am sure is understandable, I have loved telling the stories of people in the Law School community and broadcasting their many achievements!
"It is now time for me to refocus my attention. I need to get my PhD(I) finished and focus on building up my research career again. I am handing Law’s social media over to UNE’s impressive social media team. I know it is embarrassing- but it has been a bit like handing over ‘my baby.’ Luckily, I have every confidence UNE’s social media team will do an excellent job and ‘our pages’ will thrive under their direction! I have quipped to them “I am not paying child maintenance though!!’
"I have worked with some amazing people during my time managing Law’s social media pages. Special thanks to UNE students Caitlin, Annabel and Linlin (pictured) who all helped make Law’s social media presence a success. Thanks to all my colleagues at UNE Law who have always been so supportive and willing to share their successes and achievements. Particular thanks should go to all the UNE Law students and alumni, who help make UNE Law the wonderful place it is!
"I will continue to share my journey on my ‘Academically Blonde’ pages- so hopefully I will ‘see’ some of you there!"
Thank you, Julia, for everything you've done sharing the good news stories of the Law School over the past decade.
