As announced at the SABL Faculty Meeting recently, SABL is piloting Microsoft (MS) Teams prior to the software being officially rolled out across all of UNE.
More than messages
Did you know MS Teams can be used for more than just chat messages? MS Teams is capable of meetings, internal calls, file sharing and other forms of collaboration with your colleagues at UNE.
Training
Even though MS Teams is easy to use, we’ll still be offering training sessions so you can learn how to use MS Teams more effectively. Dates are to be advised. In the meantime, there’s online training on getting started with Teams, and Udemy has online courses which also show you how to get more out of Microsoft Teams.
Telephone Calls
SABL will also be piloting the shift of external telephone calls from Skype for Business (or your desk phone) into MS Teams, and we’re looking for staff to participate; please reach out to Ian Gesch if you’re interested.
Teaching using MS Teams
Teaching is one of the very powerful applications of MS Teams and if you’re keen to use it yourself in teaching, please provide your name, unit code and details (if applicable) to Ian Gesch who will arrange for the learning design team to get you started!
Survey
The project team managing this pilot are keen to hear about your experiences with MS Teams during this pilot, and to enable IT to tailor support and future training, it would be most helpful if you could please take this quick four-question survey.
If at any time you need assistance with MS Teams, please contact IT Support.
