Speaker info:
Dr Amanda Jefferys has extensive experience working as a rural Clinical Psychologist. Amanda’s practice is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and as the current Acting Director of the UNE Clinical Psychology Program, Amanda has a passion for fostering the growth of psychological services in rural and remote areas.
Anna Helder is a Clinical Psychologist who believes we are all dynamic, evolving beings. Similar to Amanda, Anna’s practice is also informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Anna is currently working both in Private Practice and supervises Masters students in the UNE Psychology Clinic.
Overview: Try to live and enjoy every day as if it were your final day. After another failed attempt to find love on New Year’s Eve, Tim’s (Domhall Gleeson) father (Bill Nighy) shares a secret where the men in their family possess a unique gift which propels Tim into an unexpected and unusual life trajectory, especially when he meets Mary (Rachel McAdams) and decides she is the love of his life. About Time is a quirky, heart-warming romcom about love, the celebration of the ordinary (and extraordinary) …and in the end learning that making the most of life and love may not need unique gifts after all.
Psyc-Flicks: Psyc-Flicks is joining Sci-Flicks, the exciting collaboration between Belgrave Cinema and UNE. Psyc-Flicks explores psychology through the world of cinema. Hear about the psychological concepts in each film with a short talk before the screening and an audience Q+A afterwards from UNE’s leading researchers, educators and local mental health professionals.
