ROY BUTLER MP - MEMBER FOR BARWON - Roy Butler has built a diverse career across the Australian Army and NSW public service, including roles in Corrective Services, disability services and as Regional Manager for the Western Region of the NSW Police Force. He holds a Master of Public Administration and has a strong understanding of the challenges facing regional and remote communities. Elected as the Member for Barwon in 2019, Roy became the first minor-party candidate to win the seat. In 2023, he was re-elected as an Independent with an increased majority, becoming the first Independent Member for Barwon.

Representing an electorate covering 44.5 per cent of NSW, Roy is a strong advocate for regional, rural and remote communities. He also serves as Chair of the NSW Parliament’s Investment, Industry and Regional Development Committee, bringing his extensive public sector and regional experience to his work in Parliament.
