Student Central provides you with a focal point of contact for all your administrative enquiries during your Study at UNE, from enquiring about a potential course until you reach your graduation. As a current student you have access to myUNE, the UNE Student Portal, through which you can access your online units, manage your enrolment, change personal information and access many useful functions.
Enrich your academic life at UNE - find out more about our student exchange program that could see you undertaking part of your study offshore, and the professional development opportunities provided through UNE Partnerships. Add value to your CV, and provide evidence of your commitment to developing the UNE Graduate Attributes and preparing yourself for graduate employment and citizenship by participating in the New England Award.
Study@UNE – as an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework student
Once you have decided on the course you wish to study, applied for admission (for prospective students – join us) to UNE, and been accepted as a UNE student, your academic life will involve:
- selecting the units (i.e. subjects) you want to study
- enrolling in those units
- managing your enrolment
- organising your class timetable
- obtaining your ID card
- paying your fees
- passing your assignments and exams, and when you have met your course requirements,
- checking your results online
- graduating and becoming a member of UNE’s global Alumni.

Study@UNE – as a postgraduate research student
As a postgraduate research student who has decided on the course you wish to study, applied for admission to UNE, and been accepted as a UNE student, your academic life will involve:

Support@UNE
We provide a range of support services to help you with every aspect of your life as a student. A broad range of support services is available to help you with your academic, administrative, financial, IT, personal and resource needs. Additional support services are provided for off-campus, indigenous, and international students.
Academic and learning support
Academic and learning skills support is provided by the Academic Skills Office who can help you with study skills, academic writing, academic reading, oral presentations and a host of other skills.
Administrative support
Administrative support for students is provided by our Student Central staff who can help you with:
- Admissions
- Complaints and Appeals
- Courses and Units
- Enrolling
- Exams/Results
- Fees/Costs
- Forms

Financial support
UNE provides financial assistance and scholarships to help you throughout your studies.
IT support
IT support is provided primarily by the IT Directorate who can help with things like:
- Computer labs for student use
- Student Printing
- File storage
- Internet access
- Setting up your UNE account and password
- Software support for standard software products,
- UNE Computer Account Information and Registration
- Webmail and email accounts
Personal support
A range of support services are available to help you with your broader support needs. These include:

Resource support is provided by the Library who can help you with:

- Research tools like Endnote.
Additional support services
are provided for off-campus, indigenous, and international students, with support for:
- off-campus students being provided through the University’s Regional Study Centres, Library and Teaching and Learning Centre which distributes learning material packages; Timetabling provides information about residential and weekend schools; see also the Correspondence Class List
- indigenous students being provided by the University’s Oorala Centre
- international students being provided by the University’s English Language and International Services (ELIS)
