Unit information
Hone your research and analytical skills and contribute to original research addressing the complex problems faced in rural science.
Guided by experienced supervisors, you will have the opportunity to carry out an individual research project and present oral and written reports including a thesis of up to 14000 words (excluding tables, figures and references).
This year-long honours unit extends your discipline knowledge as you critically review contemporary literature relevant to your research area and conduct your research project.
You will refine your professional presentation skills, translating complex knowledge and ideas during a forum held approximately 3 weeks prior to your thesis submission where you will present a seminar on your research topic.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate expertise in the detailed area of science;
- present scientific material in professional manner;
- demonstrate the ability to conduct and report original research;
- critically review and reference scientific material; and
- critically assess own and other scientific studies.
