Unit information
In this unit, you will be introduced to a range of theoretical concepts concerning leadership for learning, wellbeing and resilience in schooling contexts.
This unit is designed to provide leaders with foundational knowledge, skills, problem solving approaches and capabilities to lead pedagogical improvement. It covers leading development in effective pedagogy as well as leading effective professional teacher learning.
You will also demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of these principles and complete a small case study where you detail how you have engaged in reflection both in and on action.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- identify and demonstrate an understanding to apply theoretical concepts related to school leadership for learning;
- identify and analyse to critically assess practices associated with school leadership for learning;
- identify and utilise school leadership theory to generate solutions to situational contexts; and
- identify and synthesise 'problem solving' approaches that reflect the attributes of particular school leadership issues that arise within their school contexts.
