This unit equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to strategically implement artificial intelligence in business contexts. Students will critically evaluate emerging AI technologies, assess organisational readiness, and design AI-enabled strategies that create measurable value. Through case studies and applied projects students will develop practical frameworks for integrating AI into operations, governance, and customer engagement. The unit emphasises ethical and responsible deployment of AI, ensuring graduates can lead innovation with accountability.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:

  1. analyse and evaluate contemporary AI technologies and assess their potential applications in business strategy and operations;
  2. demonstrate advanced understanding of information systems, data governance, and organisational change principles underpinning AI deployment in business contexts;
  3. design and critically analyse AI-enabled strategies that address real-world organisational challenges, integrating ethical, cultural, and social considerations;
  4. lead, develop and communicate AI implementation plans that balance innovation with risk management; and
  5. produce persuasive oral and written communications that translate AI concepts into actionable strategies for both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
