Exchange for overseas students

UNE enables overseas students to study in Australia for one semester or one year as part of their degree.

Exchange programs are a fantastic way to travel to Australia while still studying for your degree. Come to UNE on exchange and meet new people, see new places and experience life in the unique regional city of Armidale at the University of New England.

To be eligible for the UNE exchange program, you need to be studying at one of UNE's partner institutions.

Trimester dates

We offer two admission periods at UNE for Exchange Students each year.

  • Trimester 1– February to June – closing date for applications is 15 October
  • Trimester 2 – June to October – closing date for applications is 15 April

Fees and other costs

You don't need to pay fees to UNE when you are on exchange. If your university has a current Exchange Agreement with us, you can continue to pay your regular tuition fees. UNE waives tuition costs for our international partners.

You will need to pay for your accommodation, food, textbooks and entertainment.

How can you apply?

You must be officially nominated by your home university to be eligible for the exchange program. Please contact your international office for more information.

What do our exchange students have to say?

"Best experience ever! I'm so glad to have had the opportunity to study at UNE, everybody is amazing and very kind."

Alba Munoz

"At UNE, there wasn't any time for being homesick. From the first day on I felt at home, even though I was 16 000 kilometres away. Everyone I met gave me a warm welcome, even the kangaroos at the university."

Julia Gorzitzke

"My time over there really was one of the best things I have ever done. Everyone was so helpful and I met so many great people. I know I will regret it if I do not return while I have the opportunity and am not tied down working as a lawyer here in the United States"

 Michael Klepperich
