Application and Admission Dates

Different application methods can have different closing dates. Applicants applying through a Tertiary Admissions Centre should check the opening and closing dates of those applications on the TAC websites at either: Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) or Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre

The key application dates for domestic students applying directly to UNE are outlined below.

Trimester 3 – 2026 Application Dates

Applications for study in Trimester 3 of 2026 are open now. Trimester 3 coursework commences on Monday 19 October 2026.

The on-time closing date for domestic students applying to UNE for most courses is Friday 9 October 2026 and the final closing date is Tuesday 20 October 2026*. Please also check below for courses with specific early closing dates.

  • Master of Nursing Practice (Preregistration)^ – 10 August October 2026 - applications open 12:00AM (AEST) and close 11:59PM (AEST) on 10 August 2026.
  • Music Courses:
    • Bachelor of Music – 30 September 2026
    • Diploma in Music – 30 September 2026
    • Diploma in Music Technology – 30 September 2026
  • Cross Institutional study – 16 October 2026
  • Non Award study – 16 October 2026
  • Honours Courses:

Advanced Standing applications for Trimester 3 close on Friday 2 October 2026.

^ Strict quotas (limits) apply to the number of students that can study. Quota will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that your application must be complete with all required information and documentation attached in order to be considered.

Trimester 1 – 2027 Application Dates

Applications for study in Trimester 1 of 2027 are open now. Trimester 1 coursework commences on Monday 22 February 2027.

The on-time closing date for domestic students applying to UNE for most courses is Friday 12 February 2027 and the final closing date is Tuesday 23 February 2027*. Please also check below for courses with specific early closing dates.

Early Closing Dates

  • Bachelor of Nursing - applications for the course will be closed early without further notice if the enrolment quota is reached
    • UAC Central: Apply by 29 December 2026 and change preference by 17 January 2027 (last Offer Round will be on 20 January 2027).
    • QTAC: Apply by 24 January 2027 (last Offer Round will be on 27 January 2027).
    • Direct to UNE/UAC Connect: Apply, or change preference, by 7 February 2027.

*Why are there two different closing deadlines (an on-time and a late)?

We recommend you submit your completed application before the on-time closing date because this gives you time to obtain your outcome, enrol and prepare to start your study journey when the Trimester commences (including engaging with our orientation materials).

Whilst we encourage you to get your application in on-time, we understand that sometimes this might not be possible, so for most of our courses you have a late application option enabling applicants to still submitting their completed application (including all supporting document/s) up until the first Tuesday of the teaching period and UNE will aim to get you an outcome prior to the last day to enrol for that Trimester.
