Biography

Associate Professor Joy Hardy is an accomplished researcher in large, complex, team-based, national and international research projects. Her contributions include education sector analyses in both developed and developing countries, monitoring and evaluation, participatory engagements with stakeholders, and specialised qualitative analysis, including critical discourse analysis, sentiment analysis and thematic analysis. Her current research involves two DFAT funded projects in the Philippines: (i) Teacher Development in Higher Education and (ii) Learning Development (L&D) and Learning Resource (LR) Systems Trial to Support Teacher Development in Madrasah Education (ISAL Teachers). Joy has co-authored more than 20  reports, policies and manuals for government organisations in Australia, the Philippines and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , and authored more than 40 refereed journal articles and book chapters based on her research.

Joy has also contributed to national and international teacher education and education in other professions through the supervision of doctoral and masters research projects conducted in Australia, Argentina, Bhutan, China, Papua New Guinea and Saudi Arabia. She is also an internationally-recognised specialist in the design, development and accreditation of pre-service teacher education programs.
