1997 - Bachelor of Laws - University of Tasmania;
1993 - Master of Educational Administration - University of New England;
1989 - Bachelor of Arts  - University of New England;
1982 - Diploma Nurse Education - Armidale College of Advanced Education.

Teaching Areas

2021 - Taught Elder Law in T3 at UNE;
2018 - 2020 - Co-ordinated inaugural Elder Law Industry Placement subject, (the last four semesters);
2004 – 2020 - Co-ordinating and teaching the subject Elder Law to undergraduate law students at WSU. To meet demand the subject is offered three semesters a year.
2017 - Preparation of modules Bachelor of Laws – CSU.

Research Interests

Funded Research

Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre – Supported Decision Making Project –A Lead Investigators in a three year multi-institutional project – completed June 2019;

SWSPHN – Enduring Guardianship and Medical Practitioners – completed September 2017;

COTA Home Care Today Project – Legal issues associated with CDC – completed March 2015;

Invited member of Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre - (Dealing with Cognitive and Related Functional Decline in Older People). My activity ‘Policies and Practices of Financial Institutions in respect of Substitute Decision Making Instruments’ was selected in the first round of internal submissions and was funded for a twelve month period and was completed in December, 2014;

New South Wales Health Department, applied research – 2007;

New South Wales Department Ageing, Disability and Home Care (DADHC) applied research - Sydney, 2006;

Law Foundation of Tasmania, Joint Research project with Tasmanian magistrates Court examining access to justice, a study of the Magistrates Court of Tasmania, April, 2004.
