Biography

I was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1992 after university. I practiced in England before emigrating to Australia.

I worked initially at Crown Law in Brisbane before taking up a five-year short service commission in the Army where I specialised in Military law, Administrative law, and Operational law.

Returning to the private Bar in Canberra I specialised in criminal law, family law, human rights law, administrative law, government law, and general advising.

In 2012 I was appointed as a Magistrate and Coroner of the ACT Magistrates Court. I left this position to take up an appointment as the Interim National Commissioner for Defence and Veteran Suicide Prevention.

At the end of 2021, I returned to the private bar in Canberra. I teach advocacy and military law.
