Michael Counsell is a Lecturer in Nursing who brings 27 years of clinical experience to his academic role. Michael’s professional background encompasses a wide range of practice areas, including perioperative nursing, emergency care, acute care, and renal nursing (haemodialysis), with extensive experience in rural health settings across New South Wales.
His teaching philosophy emphasises fostering critical thinking, adaptability, and holistic patient care, while inspiring future nurses by integrating practical clinical insights into academic learning.
Research interests include rural health, with a particular focus on improving access to quality care and supporting workforce sustainability in regional and remote communities.
