Description:
The University of New England (UNE) offers residential scholarships to support qualified and motivated students who might otherwise be unable to consider or continue living in a UNE residential college due to financial constraints.
How will the scholarship be paid?

Scholarship Special Conditions:
1. The recipient is required to reside in the allocated UNE College or residence (excludes St Albert’s College and Wright College, noting Wright College will not be excluded for a student with a registered disability) for the duration of the bursary and abide by the UNE Accommodation Agreement.
2. This bursary is only offered for standard room types or Wright Village flats. Wright College and St Albert’s College applications will not be considered.
3. The bursary will be applied to the recipient’s residential fee account on a fortnightly basis, thereby reducing the recipient’s fortnightly accommodation fee payments by up to $200. This is room component only for the catered Colleges.
4. If the recipient receives other financial assistance, e.g. from bursaries or scholarships that reduce their accommodation fees, the Residential Financial Assistance bursary will be adjusted so the total support received does not exceed the college fees. Any unused funds cannot be paid out or carried over.
5. The bursary may be extended for recipients in the following year. Recipients seeking the extension of their bursary must reapply through the normal application process. Bursary extension is subject to approval by the Committee and funding availability.
6. The bursary applies solely to the term of the UNE Accommodation Agreement. It will not be available for extensions to the existing UNE Accommodation Agreement or new UNE
Payment Conditions
1.The student shall receive up to $100 per week to a maximum of $5,200 for the length of their UNE Accommodation Agreement.
2. The bursary is payable into the recipient’s Residential fee account as a fortnightly rebate.
3. The student is required to reside in a college at UNE (excluding St Alberts College and Wright College) for the duration of the bursary. Students with a registered disability residing in Wright College out of necessity may be an exception (supporting documentation will be required).

1. The bursary will be awarded based on financial need and circumstances.
2. The bursary shall be awarded by the University of New England College Bursaries Committee (the Committee).
3. UNE College allocation will be determined subject to availability.
4. The bursary will be administered by the University of New England.
5. The Committee’s decision is final.

2. Complete the Financial Need Details section on the application form.
1. Financial Disadvantage: The applicant must be able to demonstrate their low to middle income family background and financial need.
Note: If you are awarded a scholarship you will be required to supply evidence of your financial situation as described in your application. Evidence of income can include:
·Income Tax Returns*
·Regular payslips
·Centrelink Statement/s
·A letter from an authorised person (e.g. community leader, school principal, minister of religion, accountant) that comments on your financial circumstances * If the most recent financial year income information is not available, previous financial year income information may be used and must be accompanied by a letter from an accountant that comments on the estimated similarity/differences.
2. Disability: Applicants residing/intending to reside in Wright College must be registered with the Student Accessibility and Wellbeing Office and provide supporting documentation, such as medical certificates, to demonstrate the necessity to be in this college
