The break

This week the Clinic was closed, but somehow that didn’t mean that we were on holidays.

As I mentioned in last week’s blog, we’ve had a very busy time lately. During that time, my priority has been on ensuring that my clients’ treatment plans are well researched and formulated so that the best results can be achieved during therapy sessions.

Consequently, other activities which can wait a little bit longer, such as analysis of psychometric testing and administrative duties, have had to wait.

So this week I jumped into this, especially the marking of psychometric testing. This involves going through all the technical and scoring manuals to figure out the scoring details. Each psychometric test includes multiple tasks, and the directions for scoring a seemingly simple task, such as one page of a child’s writing, might have nearly fifty pages of directions to be scrupulously followed.

Although it’s a bit of a bummer spending the break getting these duties back on track, it’s actually a relief to have the time to get it done and drop my stress levels a notch or two.
