SIFF Terms and Conditions
![]() SIFF26 terms | These Settle In For Free 2026 (SIFF26) terms and conditions set out the terms on which prospective first year students at UNE may be offered free accommodation for trimester 1 at UNE in 2026. |
![]() Eligibility | UNE will determine eligibility and contact eligible students as offers to study are made. You are eligible to participate in SIFF26 if you are a first year student who is eligible for funding under the Australian government's Higher Education Continuity Guarantee (HECG) program. You can check your eligibility here. If you believe you are eligible but have not heard from UNE you can get in touch via AskUNE. |
![]() Accepting the invitation | UNE will advise you if you are eligible via email and invite you to participate in Settle In For Free 2026 (SIFF26). SIFF 26 is offered on a “first come, first served” basis. Accommodation is limited so you should act as soon as possible. If you have received an invitation, you will automatically participate in SIFF 26, if you: enrol in your 2026 UNE course, and sign up for accommodation at one of the participating colleges. The invitation will lapse once the available accommodation is filled or, at the latest, midnight on 31 January 2026. If you wish to decline an invitation to participate in SIFF26 please contact: accommodation@une.edu.au The invitation cannot be transferred to another person or redeemed for cash. |
![]() Study conditions and inclusions | In trimester 1 2026 you must study at least 0.75 of a full study load. The participating colleges are: Austin Page CollegeDuval CollegeRobb CollegeWright Village. SIFF26 only covers accommodation. Other costs, such as meal costs and incidentals, are not covered by SIFF26. |
![]() When things don’t go to plan | You may cancel your participation in SIFF26 at any time. Your participation in SIFF26 may be cancelled by UNE if you cease to be a UNE student or a resident of a participating college during trimester 1 2026. |
![]() Privacy and personal information | UNE collects personal information from you for the purposes of assessing eligibility and administering your participation in SIFF26. By participating, you consent to the use of your personal information by UNE for assessing eligibility, administering the program, and for statistical or reporting purposes. Personal information includes: your nameyour addressyour identification as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanderyour family history relating to university study, This includes personal information you have shared with UNE, including via third parties, for the purposes of: applying to studyapplying for residential accommodationcontacting UNE about SIFF26, including to discuss eligibility. | Other matters | You will be required to sign a Residential Agreement, which is separate to these terms and conditions. You must comply with applicable UNE polices. |
