UNE’s Pathway Programs are here to help you take that first step towards a degree, even if you’re not quite confident about studying at university level just yet. They’re designed to build your skills, boost your confidence, and get you prepared — all within a year. And they’re completely free.
Maybe you already feel confident about studying at university but don’t meet the entry requirements for a bachelor’s degree. In that case, you can choose from a range of open-entry diplomas in different interest areas. Earn a recognised qualification while building momentum towards your further study.
The best part? The units you complete may give you credit towards your future degree, helping you reach your goal faster — and with greater confidence.

Whats the best option to apply?
There are many ways to gain entry to study at UNE. The option you choose will depend on your unique background, including your prior study, experience, and the degree you wish to pursue.
We welcome applications through various routes. There are options for everyone — including those who have just left school, those who left school years ago and have since gained relevant work experience, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entry pathways, as well as options based on previous VET or uni study.
Each application option has specific requirements and supporting documents, but don’t worry — we’ll guide you through every step of the process to make your application as smooth as possible.
