Our services

We offer a range of services to students, staff and the Armidale community. Our experienced doctors and registered nurses can offer you the following services:

  • primary health care for acute and ongoing medical problems
  • preventative health care
  • women’s health
  • sexual health and contraceptive advice
  • pap smears
  • travel advice and immunisation
  • specialist referral
  • health education
  • translation services available.

Information for students

The UNE Medical Centre is committed to providing support for UNE students. While medical emergencies cannot be foreseen it is recommended, where possible, that you make appointments a few days advance. All UNE students are bulk billed.

What you need to bring to your appointment

When you arrive for your appointment please ensure you have your:

  • student ID card
  • Medicare card
  • health care concession card (if applicable).

Are you a new patient to our Centre?

If you are a new patient please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. This will assist our administration team with updating your details in our computer system.

Have you previously been to our Centre?

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment, if possible.

Information for international students

Our caring staff are committed to assisting all students with their medical needs. They are available to assist you here at the UNE Medical Centre. We work closely with the UNE International Students' Office. Translation services are also available.

BUPA and Medibank Private sponsored students have a direct billing arrangement. This means that BUPA or Medibank Private will pay for some of your medical requirements. If you have NIB insurance you will need to pay on the day of your visit and claim this back later through your provider.

Some rebates may be applied in special circumstances if you do not have a Health Care Card.
