ProQuest eBook Central Reader App - Coming Soon

ProQuest has a dedicated eBook Central Reader App. From Monday 5 October this app will replace Adobe Digital Editions as the dedicated eReader for ProQuest eBooks. After this date all ProQuest eBook loans will open in the new app.

This applies to eBook loans (full downloads) only. Chapter downloads (PDF) and Read online options will not change.

How will the change work.

On Monday 5 October UNE will be switched over to the new app.

• The first time you choose to Download Book from ProQuest eBook Central after this date you will be prompted to download and set up the App.
• All current loans in eBook Central will be automatically synchronised with the new app.
• Existing loans that you have accessed via Adobe Digital Editions will remain available in ADE until their expiration date.
• New loans will not download or open within Adobe Digital Editions.

Why the change?

ProQuest eBook Central will no longer support Adobe Digital Editions after December 2026.

The new Reader app includes:

• Accessibility features for an enhanced reading experience.
• Support for both EPUB and PDF formats, allowing you to open full books or individual chapters in the same app.
• Capability to use on up to six different devices, provided all devices are registered with the app.
• Consistency and compatibility across devices running Windows, Apple (macOS), iOS (for iPhone and iPad), and Android.
