Academic Skills Office
The Academic Skills Office (ASO), part of Teaching and Learning Support, is UNE's learning support unit for students. We are here to help you succeed and excel in your studies. If you want better results in your assignments, or suggestions on how to study more effectively, we can help improve your understanding and skills with essay writing, exam preparation, Mathematics study, and referencing sources.
You can brush up on the best way to prepare and present your work for top marks and maximum benefit with a combination of self-paced, online workshops, videos and face-to-face sessions.
Our courses and workshops
ASO offers help and resources to enhance your skills. There are workshops with information and/or interactive exercises on learning strategies, academic reading and writing, maths and stats, referencing, oral presentation strategies, research and computer skills, and rules for writing. You can elect to train yourself in general skills or use the site to help you with specific problems as they arise in your academic work.
