Beth MacRaild O’Loughlin

This inaugural competition presents an exciting opportunity to share your ‘place’ - whether it be a literal representation, more abstract moment or somewhere in between. A sense of place is inherent within ourselves, a connection with the essence of somewhere that resonates. It’s incredibly exciting to see a photographic project being launched that will expand and enrich, whilst reflecting the incredible diversity of the University of New England’s community.

Beth is an Australian artist. Her practice overlaps between printmaking and analogue photography. Reflecting her background in photography, she draws on the historical depth of the medium; often working with alternative methods and large format film cameras. Beth completed her Honours in Photography at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University achieving First Class Honours and an Award for Academic Excellence. Prior she completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Tasmanian School of Art in Hobart through UTAS.
