New ORCID training module

Is your ORCID profile working for you?

UNE’s updated Researcher Authorship Policy now requires all UNE researchers who undertake research to have an ORCiD for linking to various University research systems.

To help every UNE researcher to comply with this policy, some simple new training, Creating a Quality ORCID Record, has been developed. The training includes a branching video, which asks a few questions about what you need to do, and shows you the relevant steps based on what you need.

The ORCID Training module should take 20-30 minutes to complete, and by the end you should:

  • Have a valid ORCID profile and understand why ORCIDs matter.
  • Have connected your ORCID profile to talk with UNE’s repository, RUNE.
  • Added in key relevant personal information to your profile.
  • Have connected your ORCID profile to other relevant services, such as Scopus, PubMed, CrossRef.

Having a complete ORCID profile will help others find you as a researcher, and when properly connected, facilitate automatic updates into the UNE repository, which saves you time and work!

To complete the training, you will need to log in using your UNE log-in details.
