There are no intensive schools required for this unit.
A pre-requisite is a unit that you must pass before you will be permitted to enrol in a related or subsequent unit. Most pre-requisite units will contain foundation knowledge which is essential for success in later units. Read more.
A restriction describes a unit that you have already successfully completed, which is considered the equivalent to another unit that you are attempting to enrol in. Depending on the units you have completed previously, you may be exempt from completing subsequent restricted units. Read more.
Offered in intensive mode in country (Mataram, Lombok, Indonesia).
This unit is a RUILI (Regional Universities Indonesian Language Initiative) approved unit, currently offered in Mataram, Lombok, Indonesia.
Students with a pass of 70% or better in HSC Indonesian Continuers or students with HSC Indonesian Extension or equivalent level of knowledge should enrol at 200 level.
Students with existing competence in Indonesian (including HSC Indonesian Beginners) who are unsure of their current level of competence should contact the discipline convenor to request a placement test.
Indonesian or Malay native speakers are not permitted to enrol in INDN101, INDN111, INDN102, INDN112, INDN201 or INDN211.
This unit is not equivalent to INDN102.
In-class assessments are developed, administered and implemented by the Indonesian program provider under supervision from a resident director appointed by the RUILI member universities.

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- communicate in Indonesian in both written and spoken forms through study undertaken at an in-country university at a beginner level;
- communicate in Indonesian on general topics at a beginner level; and
- demonstrate some understanding of the culture of Indonesia.
