If you want to become a teacher, or you are a qualified teacher wanting to advance your skills, our units of study in Special Education / Educational Psychology will offer you effective and evidence-based instructional and assessment strategies to support the learning of students with diverse learning needs. Your acquired skills will include strategies to assist the management of challenging behaviour.

Special education is about the provision of quality educational services to students with special needs. The study of inclusive and special education has been a mandatory requirement of initial teacher training in Australia for many years.

The Special Education Team has a long and proud tradition of learning and teaching, and researching; we are highly qualified and experienced with diverse interests in the field of special and inclusive education. We provide courses and units at undergraduate and postgraduate levels for students studying on- and off-campus. The academics in our team maintain close involvement with special and inclusive education practice in a variety of educational community settings. This involvement feeds into our research.
