Working for NSW is more than just a job.  A career in NSW Government is for people who want to make a tangible and lasting difference in our community. It is for people who are looking for choice and opportunity through the scope and scale of our roles, projects and diversity of our people.

As Australia’s largest employer, NSW Government includes many agencies who all work together to develop policy and deliver important services across justice, planning and environment, health, education, transport and infrastructure across our state.

We are looking for talented and passionate graduates to build on this work by joining our Graduate Program and becoming leaders of tomorrow. In our program, graduates will have the chance to gain a diverse range of experience through a number of rotations, as well as access to unique networking and development opportunities.

In 2017 our Program was recognised as the ‘star mover’ in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employer’s List and Randstad have named NSW Government as one of the best employers in Australia.

To find out how you can create and explore new opportunities, watch Tony’s story:

The NSW Government Graduate Program is the star mover of the 2017 Top 100 Graduate Employer rankings.

Right now, there are great things happening in NSW and the NSW Government is at the forefront of rapid transformation to grow the economy, deliver new infrastructure and better public services, making the State an even better place to live and work.

Transitioning NSW into a new era requires talented people including university graduates who are becoming some of the Government’s leaders of tomorrow.

The NSW Government Graduate Program provides a solid foundation of skills and knowledge that will be useful in any work context across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Over 18 months, graduates undertake three rotations across participating government agencies. Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates are offered an ongoing role. They also obtain a Diploma of Government qualification and are paid a competitive salary from day one.

A feature of the NSW graduate experience is that individuals are supported by a personal mentor and executive sponsor, offering plenty of opportunities to develop high-level professional networks.

No matter what degree graduates have completed, there is a wealth of choice and opportunity available to individuals looking to launch or develop their career in NSW.
