Demand for health professionals has never been higher

The health care sector is Australia’s largest employer, with one in eight people employed in the industry. But our ageing population, coupled with more sedentary lifestyles and increased medical technology breakthroughs, means the demand for highly trained health and disability practitioners has never been higher, and is set to rise sharply in the coming decades.

There are a huge variety of career paths available in health and disability, so if you’re looking for a job that is rewarding, meaningful, well paid and socially vital, a career in this sector could be for you.

Salaries for healthcare workers have bucked the trend in Australia in recent years, by continuing to increase by 2-3% per annum, with some experts predicting this growth will continue as demand outstrips supply in many professions within the sector.

At UNE we have a range of undergraduate and postgraduate health and disability courses available for online study that will put you on a successful career path in the sector, or help you upskill and future proof your career if you are already working in the industry.

  • ‘Fundamental’ Bespoke Course: choose two, three or four fundamental units from a traditional degree.
