Develop your critical thinking, debating and analytical skills

Political systems permeate our lives and govern our movements, our opportunities and our legal rights and responsibilities.

Politics is the process by which people who live together make decisions about the distribution of resources and governance of the people in a certain area or country. Politics graduates have highly developed critical thinking, debating and analytical skills, all sought after by employers in workplaces across the globe.

Peace Studies examines nonviolent ways of resolving conflict. Peace workers support individuals, families, communities and whole societies in transforming conflicts before they escalate towards violence. They help conflict-affected communities to rebuild into societies that are sustainable, ecologically just and equitable.

Are you fascinated by the way different countries organise their political processes? Do you have a passion to represent your community? Do you aspire to a career in law or in the judiciary? A degree in politics can help to future proof your career in this field. If you have a special interest in International Studies, we have a range of complementary studies which explore significant world issues like terrorism, global warming and security.

UNE has consistently been awarded the maximum five star rating for Overall Experience and Student Support (in The Good Universities Guide).
