Biography

Leopold is an Accounting and Business Education Researcher at the University of New England (UNE) Business School as well as the Associate Dean Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law. He has a PhD in Accounting and is a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Certified Practicing Accounting (CPA), as well as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

He is an active business and accounting education researcher with a focus on the development of future focused curricula in higher education. His research aims to enable future graduates to provide meaningful contributions to global societal challenges through developing frameworks that embed holistic educational principles in the Australian and international university environment. Leopold as publications in leading international journals und undertaken numerous invited presentations in national and international research forums.

Leopold works with several cross-disciplinary research teams, both nationally and internationally. He also works extensively with accounting firms and Australian accounting bodies to further his research agenda and disseminate the findings of his research. Leopold’s teaching focuses on financial accounting and auditing for both undergraduate and postgraduate students in a face-to-face and distance learning environment. Leopold has received numerous institutional, national and international awards for his innovative use of technology in teaching.
