Jennifer’s expertise in higher education pedagogy ranges across Consumer Behaviour, Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing Management, Services Marketing, Marketing Strategy and Planning, Sociology and Gender in Organisations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Jennifer has 30 years experience in conducting social scientific research in the corporate division of QANTAS Airways and in academia. She has published widely in the areas of consumption and self-identity, gender in organisations, and knowledge management in higher education and has consulted widely to numerous service and allied health industries.

Research Interests

Jennifer researches and has published over 40 publications in the following areas, Consumer Culture, Gender in Organisations, Gender Equality, Knowledge Management and Management Education. Her methodological paradigm is one of critical realism and while an expert in the application of both quantitative and qualitative research methods, her preference is for qualitative methods.

Recent and ongoing research includes

Recently, Jennifer has been deepening and broadening her collaborative research in the area of gender equality in the accounting profession comparing women’s experiences in both urban and regional Small and Medium-sized Enterprises. Jennifer is also currently conducting primary research on the topic of whether, and in what ways, urban and rural consumers differ in their buying behaviour.

Jennifer has consulted widely to industries in the area of Marketing Management and Customer Service. Two examples of Jennifer’s consultancies are the Re-Branding of the Greater Western Area Health Service based at Dubbo Base Hospital and Marketing Training for Managers, employed by Job Link Plus in the North Western Region of NSW.
