Biography

Gemma Pérez López, PhD in Economic and Business Sciences (University of Granada), is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law of the University of Granada (Melilla Campus), where she is also the coordinator of the Student Orientation Office.

Within the area of management and control of public entities, her research focuses mainly on cost efficiency in local government, financial condition and forms of management of local public services. She has published several articles in JCR journals, such as European Journal of Operational Research, Waste Management, Regional Studies, Urban Studies or Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, and other indexed national and international publications. Dr. Pérez-López actively participates into the Spanish research group Financing, Management and Control of Organizations (FIGECO, SEJ-355) and she has collaborated in several research projects financed by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the Andalusian Studies Center and the Pasqual Maragall Chair.

In the teaching field, Dr. Gemma Pérez-López has a wide teaching experience in subjects related to Accounting and Finance such as General Accounting, Financial Accounting, Financial Statements, Analysis of Financial Statements, Auditing of Financial Statements, Management and Cost Accounting, Analysis and Control of Costs, Introduction to Financial Operations and Planning and Valuation of Companies. She also teaches Education of Economy in the Master in Compulsory Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Language Teaching, from the University of Granada.
