Approaches and Principles in the Design of Integrated Programs for House Energy Efficiency: Literature Review

This project involved a review of Australian and international literature on the factors influencing the adoption of energy efficient household behaviours, and of government energy efficiency programs overseas and in other Australian States. The work supports the further development of energy efficiency programs by the NSW Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water (DECCW). The project has a focus in two areas: firstly how an understanding of the factors influencing the adoption of energy efficient household behaviours can be used to improve community education and awareness raising about energy efficiency, and secondly how existing energy efficiency programs in NSW may be able to take advantage of innovations and lessons learnt in programs overseas.
