Training and education

AARSC provides the next generation of growers, consultants and government agencies with access to training in new technologies and analytical processing relevant to applied agricultural remote sensing.

Higher degree research opportunities

There are currently a number of exciting higher degree research opportunities available within the Applied Agricultural Remote Sensing Centre for domestic Australian students in the following areas:

  • Machine-learning based classification of agricultural crops using remote sensing data
  • Fruit tree crop health diagnoses using imagery, including water stress and disease detection and yield prediction
  • Spatial statistical analyses of the variability of crop yields
  • Real-time monitoring of horticultural tree crops using in-field sensors and high temporal frequency remote sensing
  • Automated management recommendations for nutrient and water application and harvest timing for growers

If you have a keen interest in any of these areas of research consider joining our growing team! Contact us via email aarsc@une.edu.au to find out more about higher degree research opportunities with AARSC.
