A higher class of research
UNE has around 700 Higher Degree Research candidates, who come from all over the world to work at UNE. Just over half these graduate researchers work on campus; the remainder conducts their research as external candidates. International graduate researchers make up about one third of all HDR candidates at UNE.
Research training undertaken in HDR programs – in Masters and doctoral degrees – provide important skills and knowledge used to build innovation and research capacity of the Australian economy. Graduate researchers form a vital part of the UNE research community, working with world-ranked research supervisors across all disciplines of the University.
Our graduate researchers are pursuing a vast range of fascinating research subjects. Their outcomes will benefit us locally, nationally and globally in ways that only time will fully reveal, but their processes are fascinating and their enthusiasm is inspiring.
