Ensure that you activate a student email account, even if you forward this account to an alternative provider, as UNE will be contacting you via this email account for official correspondence. If you need assistance in this regard, visit the IT Service Desk.

Make sure you identify your local IT expert or support person in the School. You need to make friends with this person early. You never know when you'll need them - but you will!

Finally, identify what IT skills you may require - there are a wide range of courses and expertise on offer throughout the university.
