Renewing loans

What is a renewal?

A renewal is an extension of your original loan period. A loan cannot be renewed if:

  • you have already renewed the item the maximum number of times.
  • another client is waiting for the item.
  • you are blocked from borrowing.
  • your enrolment has expired.

If you are not able to renew a loan for any reason, it must be returned to the Library by the due date to avoid penalties and fees.

Automatic renewals

Ordinary loans are normally automatically renewed by the system at the end of the borrowing period. However, books are not renewed by the system if any of the above conditions apply.

Renewing loans

To view your borrowing record and/or renew an item, please login to My Account. After you have done so, you will see a list of the items you have on loan, with options to renew.
