Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Career Education and Transition)

This Career Advisor Financial Assistance Award is an initiative of the UNE Marketing and Public Affairs. The objective of this financial assistance award is to encourage enrolment in the UNE Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Careers and Transition Education) for the purpose of assisting high school based career advisors and teachers improve their professional qualifications and delivery of services to school students.

Value:

  • $1,000 - Paid on successful completion of any unit in the Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Career Education and Transition) in Trimester 1, 2019. Recipients are only entitled to receive a maximum of one payment.

Eligibility Criteria

It is our goal to help you meet the criteria and conditions. We are here to help and will do everything we can to assist you.

The recipient must:

  • be a member of a participating UNE MyFutureFinder school
  • have completed the FREE UNE MyFutureFinder on-line certification.
  • The recipient must meet the standard Admission to Candidature for entry into the Certificate in Education Studies (Careers and Transition Education). As a minimum, hold a bachelor’s degree and at least one year full-time (or equivalent) as a School Career Advisor or Career Development practitioner in TAFE, universities, business organisations, government agencies or private practice.

Selection Criteria

Selection is based on the first 5 students meeting the above criteria enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Careers and Transition Education) commencing Trimester 1, 2019.

Selection preference will be given in the following order:

  1. Any person working in a Career Advisors capacity in an eligible high school
  2. Teacher with Career Advisor responsibilities working in an eligible high school
  3. Teacher with Career Advisor aspirations working in an eligible high school

Conditions

$1,000 will be paid on successful completion of any unit Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Career Education and Transition) in Trimester 1, 2019.

Recipients are only entitled to receive a maximum of one payment totaling $1000 irrespective of the number of units undertaken.

The recipient must complete a survey and provide other forms of feedback as requested.

About the Graduate Certificate in Education Studies

The Graduate Certificate in Education Studies (Career Education and Transition) is endorsed by the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) and by NSW Department of Education as an approved post-graduate program designed to prepare teachers for employment as a careers advisor.
