The University of New England (UNE) provides the best student experience of any NSW university, according to the Good Universities Guide (GUG), which has awarded UNE five stars for “Overall Student Experience” for the 13th year in a row.

In related rankings, GUG ranked UNE as the State’s top university for Student Support and Teaching Quality. UNE’s graduates also have the State’s highest starting salary upon entering the workforce, and the University has the highest proportion of “first in family” commencements.

“Once again, UNE’s excellent GUG ratings were earned by our staff,” said the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Annabelle Duncan.

“It is due to the hard work and capability of our staff that UNE’s students feel well supported, and a testament to this support that UNE is a top-rating university for graduate employment and graduate starting salary.”

“UNE’s emphasis on supporting students, wherever they are located and whatever their status in life, has been central to the University’s outlook since it became a global pioneer of distance education in 1954. I’m proud that we are keeping the flame alight on this vital aspect of our service to the community.”

The Good Universities Guide, produced by the Good Education Group, annually ranks Australian universities across a wide range of criteria to provide benchmarks that can be used by students and the universities themselves.

GUG only awards ‘five stars’ to universities ranked in the top 20% of a particular criteria, and flags when a ranking puts a university first in its State.

The latest rankings are being released as part of the Good Universities Guide 2019.
