Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall announced that the UNE SMART Region Incubator (UNE SRI) has received $300,000 in funding as part of the Local Innovation Network program to build a collaborative startup network across the New England North West.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Annabelle Duncan said the UNE SMART Region Incubator was about creating a globally-recognised and vibrant startup community in the New England North West.

“By connecting entrepreneurs of all ages with mentors and researchers we can boost the number of successful enterprises in regional NSW”

The funding will allow the UNE SRI to expand its presence across the New England North West through the creation of collaborative online platforms that will provide increased support to regional entrepreneurs and innovators.

In addition, UNE, in partnership with Tamworth Regional Council and Armidale Regional Council, will also deliver events and activities across the region to inspire and educate the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.
