The University of New England has been awarded five-star ratings for Student Experience and Graduate Outcomes by the 2017 Good Universities Guide released today.
The results for Student Experience firmly place UNE within in the top 20 per cent of all Australian universities and is endorsed by top scores in the supporting categories of overall quality of educational experience, teaching quality, learner engagement, learning resources, and student support.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Annabelle Duncan, welcomed the results and praised staff for their hard work in consistently delivering an outstanding student experience.
“We work hard to provide our students with the best possible learning environment regardless of their location,” Prof. Duncan said.
“I specifically want to highlight the efforts of our various student support teams, including colleges, in providing both academic support and pastoral care to our students. Their efforts contributed significantly to our outstanding results.”
UNE achieved five stars in the category Graduate Outcomes that reflects employment outcomes for graduates as well as the median salary of graduates from different universities.
“I’m delighted to say we also achieved strong results for social equity,” Prof. Duncan said.
“As a university we are proud of our inclusiveness and are constantly reviewing the way we engage with students to improve our processes.
“Together with other Regional Universities Network (RUN) members we are working on projects to better understand, identify and address organisational, academic, environmental and social factors that can impact on students’ studies.”
The data that informs Student Experience and Graduate Outcomes was sourced from the Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) and is based on the results of the Student Experience Survey and Graduate Destination Survey respectively.
