Prestigious national awards for two UNE teachers

FR 1Two teaching staff members from the UNE Business School have been named by the Australian Government’s Office of Learning and Teaching as recipients of Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning as part of the Australian Awards for University Teaching.

Dr Leopold Bayerlein has been recognised for successfully motivating and inspiring accounting students through highly supportive teaching in an immersive, virtual internship environment for blended and online learning.

Dr Fredy-Roberto Valenzuela receives his Citation for helping distance education students understand and apply core marketing concepts through the development of resources that allow mental model building.Leo 2

UNE Vice-Chancellor Professor Annabelle Duncan said that the OLT Citations are highly prestigious awards.

“On behalf of the whole UNE community I wish to extend my wholehearted congratulations to both Dr Bayerlein and Dr Valenzuela for their innovative approaches and their dedication to teaching and students,” Professor Duncan said.
