SportUNE, Yarm Gwanga combine expertise for Vacation Care

Published 08 December 2011

early_childhoodSportUNE and the Yarm Gwanga child care centre at the University of New England have joined together to hold a bigger and better Vacation Care program for schoolchildren.

The program, facilitated by Yarm Gwanga, will be held at UNE’s Wright Centre and use the facilities at SportUNE to offer children an active and enjoyable holiday.  The program will include activities such as art and craft (e.g. face painting, tie dyeing, origami, painting and drawing, working with clay, kite making, and other craft activities), cooking, music, dance, indoor games, board games and sport (e.g. gymnastics, tennis, cricket, swimming, rock climbing, athletics, touch football, soccer, and ball games).

The combining of expertise by SportUNE and Yarm Gwanga will ensure that children have a varied, exciting and nurturing Vacation Care program.  It also means that places are open for more children to participate in the holiday fun under the comprehensive supervision of fully-qualified child care professionals.

UNE’s Vacation Care program is an approved child care provider open to schoolchildren aged 5-12 years.  Vacation Care places are limited and demand is high, so early registration is encouraged. Individual day bookings are available at competitive rates.
