Earle Page students stage another Extravaganza

Earle Page Fashion ParadeUNE’s Earle Page College is staging its annual Charity Fashion Extravaganza tomorrow, Saturday 16 May.

The event is part of the College’s annual ‘Coast Run’ fund-raising campaign – now in its 30th year – in aid of the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Last year, the campaign raised $35,000, with the Fashion Extravaganza contributing $8,500 to the total. The campaign culminates with the Coast Run itself – Armidale to Coffs Harbour – in September.

The Fashion Extravaganza is a major event on the calendars of the College and the local community. More than 100 College residents model clothes from local fashion houses in routines they have choreographed themselves. ‘The Fashion Extravaganza is a great opportunity for students to get actively involved in fund-raising, as well as for the community to get an idea of the opportunities available to students at UNE,’ said Ben Bowman, the Coast Run Convener.

The 2009 Fashion Extravaganza, sponsored by Roberts and Morrow, will be held at the Armidale Ex-Services Memorial Club tomorrow evening, starting at 7 pm. On the program will be a variety of musical performances by College residents, including a piece from the upcoming Earle Page College Musical, Rent. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and $15 for children 16 years and under. Tickets are available at the door or from the Earle Page College Office on 6773 5300.

‘The Fashion Extravaganza is a fantastic event that the College looks forward to each year,’ said Jessica Allan, the Fashion Extravaganza Coordinator. ‘It’s an evening that’s enjoyed by all – whether performers or spectators. Everyone involved contributes to a great cause: the Children’s Medical Research Institute.’
