The Tin Humpy is a major part of the “Looking Through Windows Project” by Dr Lorina L. Barker and her Team. The Looking Through Windows Project is a two-year multimedia history project - showcasing our Elders stories of mission life and what it was like to be removed from Country and forced to live under the ‘protection’ of the Aborigines Protection/Welfare Boards.

This is special community event and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Tin Humpy installation will be open to the public from 10:30am to 2:00pm on Friday, 14th December 2018. The program of events includes:

  • 11:00am – Welcome to Country
  • 11:30am – Vice Chancellor Welcome Speech
  • 11:45am – Trucked Off Performance
  • 12:00pm - Opening of Tin Humpy
  • 12:00pm - Smoking Ceremony Will be performed with the Humpy
  • 12:15am - Simon Mellor Sings Campfire Songs

At 2:00pm the Tin Humpy will be secured and community will not be allowed inside. If you miss the special opening event, you are more than welcome to visit and look from behind the safety barrier.
