SPACE — Worlds Unknown

An eclectic mix of world music, live performances, cutting edge art, gourmet food and engaging talks will bring to life hidden spaces in Parramatta as part of the popular Parramatta Lanes food and cultural festival. In excess of 100,000 people attended over the 4 nights in 2018, of these 4,000 visited the UNE Sydney site.

Presented as part of Good Food Month, the festival offers gourmet street food, pop-up bars, live music, art and performances each evening within thirteen uniquely themed spaces throughout the City. For 2019, the theme is SPACE — Worlds Unknown.

During the Lanes Festival, UNE Sydney has curated a number of activities to allow for engagement with the community. The UNE Museum of Natural History will have art work in the form of large posters on display in the laneway behind 211 Church St, with reference to the fact the museum is a working collection used in education and academic research. The City of Parramatta will be providing the lighting to showcase these art works.

The UNE Music program will also have staff and students doing live performances throughout the 4 nights. UNE staff will be on site during the event to provide course information to prospective/future students. Current students, staff and Alumni will be notified of the event so they can come and network during the festival.
