The Australasian Society for Classical Studies is the peak body for classics in the southern hemisphere. It’s 40th annual conference, an international event, will be held at UNE in 2019.

UNE's Museum of Antiquities (UNEMA) is UNE’s oldest museum, Australia’s first regional museum of antiquities, and is turning 60 in 2019. This anniversary will be commemorated with the unveiling of a commemorative artefact.

The 40th Australasian Society for Classical Studies Conference and the unveiling of UNEMA's 60th anniversary will be combined to create this special event in February 2019. International keynote speakers will be attending.
