$3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit - Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

The $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit is offered under the following terms and conditions. By accepting the bursary, you agree to these terms and conditions.

  1. The $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit is an equity initiative offered through the Higher Education Continuity Guarantee (HECG). It is a targeted bursary to support equity outcomes for under-represented students who received a 2025 UNE Offer for full-time study and have been identified by the University as meeting HECG criteria.
  2. The $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit contributes $3,000 credit towards accommodation costs during trimester 1 and 2 to eligible students at nominated residential Colleges of the University of New England during their first year of study.
  3. Eligible students, who have received an early entry offer will receive an email confirming their eligibility offer for the $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit offer which is open for acceptance prior to or on 31 January 2025 when it will lapse (unless extended by UNE at is sole discretion). To accept an offer you must enrol in a 2025 UNE course and enter into an accommodation agreement with a nominated residential College prior to or on 31 January 2025.
  4. Other full time 2025 commencing students that may be eligible will be assessed at the time of application by enrolling in their course and entering into an accommodation agreement with a nominated residential College prior to or on 31 January 2025. Those eligible will receive an email confirming their offer for the $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit. Unless they opt out the credit will be applied to accommodation costs during trimester 1 and 2 to eligible students at nominated residential colleges of the University of New England during their first year of study.
  5. The number of $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit bursaries is limited and the bursaries will be distributed in order of enrolling in an eligible 2025 UNE course and entry into an accommodation agreement with a nominated residential College prior to or on 31 January 2025. No further bursaries will be distributed after the limit is reached.
  6. A $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit is guaranteed for your first year of full-time study (0.75 EFTSL or greater).
  7. The $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit will not be paid to you in cash for any reason. When you accept the bursary (if you meet all terms and conditions)  credits will be applied to your residential college accommodation account during trimester 1 and trimester 2 for your first year of study only.
  8. If you withdraw and/or transfer from UNE, you forfeit the bursary. You will not receive any refund of the bursary component of your residential accommodation fees. if you reduce your study load to less than 0.75 EFTSL, the $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit will be debited on a pro-rata basis (relevant to your period of occupancy) from your residential college accommodation account.
  9. The $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit is not transferrable to another person and cannot be deferred until a later date.
  10. You must adhere to all of UNE’s policies and procedures relating to student and academic conduct. Failure to do so, may result in the bursary being withdrawn.
  11. UNE reserves the right to assess and verify eligibility for the $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit and a decision to award or not award the bursary is final and no appeal will be allowed.
  12. If an offer for the $3000 First Years' Accommodation Credit is made to an eligible student under the age of 18 years, you are required to obtain your parent’s or guardian’s permission to enter and agree to these terms and will be deemed to have obtained such permission by accepting your eligible 2025 UNE offer and your parent’s entry into an accommodation agreement subject to the above terms and conditions.
  13. UNE collects personal information of potential students including for the purpose of assessing eligibility and administering the bursary in accordance with the University’s Privacy Management Rule. Supply of personal information is voluntary however if it is not provided, your eligibility may not be able to be assessed or the bursary administered. Any requests to access, update or correct information should be made to accommodation@une.edu.au.
  14. Participants agree to the use of their personal information by the University in connection with assessing eligibility and administering the bursary program and to the disclosure of their personal information to third parties in connection with the program, including for reporting or statistical purposes, such as the Department of Education or parties that provide products or services to the University.
