UNE's 70th Anniversary Annual Appeal
The year 2024 marks the 70th anniversary of the University of New England. Seven decades ago, on 1 February 1954, UNE separated from the University of Sydney to become Australia’s first independent regional university.
Our platinum jubilee commemorates the ongoing influence of first Vice Chancellor Robert Madgwick and first Chancellor Sir Earle Page, and former and current staff, students and supporters who picked up their vision and shaped it into our university. Over the course of 2024, join us to reflect on our rich history, honour the achievements of our alumni, and envision an even brighter future for UNE.
UNE has a multitude of projects to support in 2024. Just a few include a new scholarship for a Rural Science student commemorating Professor Bill McClymont. Other areas which need help are the UNE Campus Refurbishment, UNE Museum of Antiquities and the Natural History Museum.
Whatever the area that you are passionate about, we have a fund available which would welcome your support.
If you can't find what you are looking for, let us create a project especially for you.
For further information, telephone 02 6773 2870 or email advance@une.edu.au
I can now say with 100% certainty … without this scholarship I would have had to leave college and seek residence elsewhere. Therefore you have given me a stable and consistent home and working space, which has been essential to my success this year, and I am eternally grateful.
