The UNE Business School cordially invites you to the Teaching and Learning Seminar of Dr Lucie Newsome, Dr Kashmira Dave, Ms Gillian Freeman and Mr Sam Budgen (UNE), which is part of the Teaching and Learning Series.
The session will be held on Friday 1st November at 11:00 AM in W40 LT2 and through Zoom (Password: 700460).
A light lunch will be offered.
Abstract
H5P Workbooks in MyLearn allow for student interaction, chunking of material, embedding of a range of media, the self-assessment of students and can be a timesaver for lecturers. This seminar will explore the benefits of this tool for educators and students, showcasing creative options for reinvigorating and future proofing teaching materials.
Lucie Newsome will present her experience as a lecturer of using the workbooks. Gillian, Sam and Kashmira will demonstrate the capabilities of this tool and provide inspiration for how it can be used to (re)engage students.
Lucie Newsome is a senior lecturer in the UNE Business School in the areas of management and political economy. Her research focuses on the intersections of gender in business, politics and policy. Formerly, Dr Newsome has held senior policy and project roles in the New South Wales and Queensland Governments.
Kashmira Dave is a Lecturer in academic development. Kashmira has 20 years of experience working in Australian Universities. She worked in the universities in various capacities including academic, professional and research. Her area of research is Learning design, teaching and learning in higher education, third space professional identity and technology enabled learning.
Gillian Freeman is a Learning Designer and holds a Master of Education and a Postgraduate in eLearning. She has eight years’ experience working at Australian Universities in various roles including academic English Teacher and Learning Advisor.
Sam Bugden is a Learning Designer and holds a Bachelor of Education. He has over 10 years of experience working within Higher Education in the field of Learning Design.
